Held Fast by His Hand
We live in a world marked by uncertainty—rising fears, shifting culture, personal failures. In seasons of doubt, we may feel like we've lost our footing. But God's people are never truly alone or without hope. Psalm 73 reminds us that even when our hearts are unstable, God’s grip is not.
“Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand. Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.”
This confession is made by Asaph after wrestling with envy and confusion. He looked at the prosperity of the wicked and questioned God’s justice—until he entered the sanctuary and gained eternal perspective. What changed wasn’t his situation, but his understanding of God's sovereign goodness and steadfast presence.
Additional Scripture
“For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
We are not held fast because we are strong, but because God is faithful. His grip is not dependent on our performance, but secured by His covenantal love. Even when our hearts falter, His counsel guides us, and His promise remains sure—glory awaits.
Living It Out
If you’re facing disappointment, spiritual dryness, or seasons of silence, take heart: God has not let go. Even in your darkest valleys, He is present. Let this truth settle deeply in your heart—He holds you now and forever.
