“The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.”
— Psalm 29:11 (KJV)

In a world full of distractions and pursuits, David’s declaration in Psalm 119:57 is deeply refreshing: “Thou art my portion, O Lord.” It is a reminder that God Himself is the believer’s ultimate inheritance and satisfaction. We were not made to find fulfillment in worldly success or possessions, but in Him who is eternal.

When we declare the Lord as our portion, we are saying, “I have enough.” That confidence leads to obedience—“I have said that I would keep thy words.” Love for God leads to loyalty to His Word.

📌 Application

Ask yourself today: What do I treasure most? If everything else were stripped away, would I be content with God alone? Let this verse guide your heart back to true satisfaction found only in Christ. Renew your commitment to keeping His Word—not as a duty, but as a delight born out of relationship.

Lord, remind me daily that You alone are my portion. Teach me to find my joy in You, not in the temporary things of this world. Help me walk in obedience out of love for Your name. Amen.
