Trusting God's Timing
“He hath made every thing beautiful in his time.” — Ecclesiastes 3:11
There are seasons in life when God’s timing feels uncertain. We may pray and wait, wondering why the answers delay. Yet Scripture reminds us that God's plans are not late—they are perfect. He sees the end from the beginning, working all things for His glory and our good.
“God is too good to be unkind and He is too wise to be mistaken. And when we cannot trace His hand, we must trust His heart.”
— Charles Spurgeon
We often feel the need to control outcomes, but God calls us to rest. His delays are not denials—they are divine preparations. Abraham waited decades for a promised son, Joseph endured prison before ruling Egypt, and David fled Saul before taking the throne. In each case, God’s plan was unfolding—just not in their expected timing.
“Providence is wonderfully intricate. You want always to see through it, do you not? You never will, I assure you. You have not eyes good enough. You must believe it.”
— Charles Spurgeon
The wait itself shapes us. It builds our faith, purifies our desires, and aligns us with God’s will. The process is never wasted—because God is never wasteful.
“We will not grow weary of waiting upon God if we remember how long and how graciously He once waited for us.”
— John Newton
As you go about your day, surrender your timelines to God. Trust that He will fulfill His promises—not according to your clock, but in the fullness of His wisdom. His ways are higher. His timing is trustworthy. And His grace is always sufficient.
“The waiting itself is beneficial to us: it tries faith, exercises patience, trains submission, and endears the blessing when it comes.”
— Charles Spurgeon
Prayer: Lord, help me to trust You in the waiting. Teach me to rest in Your perfect timing, and believe that You are always working, even when I cannot see it. Amen.
